Investment strategy

From business analysis
to investment decisions.

We compare a company’s earnings and cash flows with the expectations in its share price, then consider each position in the context of the portfolio.

Discuss the strategy

Long equity

Research focuses on businesses whose earnings power and cash generation may be underappreciated. We examine customer demand, competitive position and reinvestment needs, then assess what the current valuation already assumes.

Short equity

We examine where market expectations may exceed a company's ability to deliver. Orders, margins, cash conversion and capital requirements help test the assumptions supporting a valuation.

Portfolio construction

Long and short positions are considered together. Position sizing takes account of downside scenarios, liquidity and exposures shared across holdings. We revisit each investment case as new evidence emerges.
